foursquare app is getting a facelift on June 7th

So I heard this rumor that foursquare app is getting a nice and shiny new facelift today (source: http://twitter.com/#!/foursquare) . Here are couple of things I’d like to see in the new version of this app:

First of all, the check-in procedure is too complicated. It is one of the two main features of this app: check-in and friends’ check-ins

Checking-in should be accessible in max 2 taps – open the app, there’s a button “Check-in”. You click it and the list of places nearby appears. You can click on a + sign next to a place name in the list and instantly check-in. If you mistakenly clicked on wrong place, you can even uncheck-in. Simple as that. After you successfully check-in, an old-new window pops-up where you can add a status and photo or share it with your friends on twitter and facebook.

foursquare still lacks features. If I’m for the first time in the city, it’d be great if foursquare would realize that after I check-in and asked me if it can help me find the best places around. How about payed audio guide downloadable right on my phone while I’m drinking my coffee in the city center of an unknown town?

foursquare should also work more on gamification. It would be great to be able to set challenges for my friends or to know what do I have to do to get another badge. I’m sure lot of users would go around collecting badges.

I’m really looking forward for new foursquare app. I’m sure it’ll be amazing.
